We want anyone to be able to get a quote: with a keyboard, with a screen reader, with zoom or with little motion on screen. This page says what the site does today and what we have not measured yet.
What the site does today
- A "Skip to content" link at the start of every page, to go straight to the main part with the keyboard.
- Links, buttons, fields and expandable questions can be reached and used with the keyboard, and whatever has focus is shown with an outline.
- Each step of the quote tool moves focus to the question's heading, so people using a keyboard or a screen reader do not have to look for it.
- Fields have labels, and errors are written as text (not only with color) and announced to screen readers.
- The page language (Spanish or English) is declared in the document and changes with the ES / EN button, so the screen reader uses the right voice.
- If your device asks for less motion (prefers-reduced-motion), the site removes smooth page scrolling and the panels (plan detail, comparison, income helper) appear with a short fade, without sliding.
- The light or dark theme follows your device's setting. If you ask for more contrast, the translucent panels switch to solid backgrounds with a border.
What we have not measured yet
Our color contrast target is level AA of the WCAG guidelines, but we have not yet measured it screen by screen. We do not claim conformance with any accessibility standard.
What is described above comes from reviewing the site's code. It is not a certification or an outside audit.
One limitation we know of: the definition of "federal poverty level" on the home page is offered as help text (the title attribute) that some screen readers and touch screens do not show. If you cannot see it, the agent will explain it to you.
If something does not work for you
If you find something you cannot use or read, tell us. Let us know which page it was, what you were trying to do and with which device or tool. If you cannot complete the quote tool, the agent can guide you by phone.
Questions and contact
